Steve started playing drums and percussion at age 12 and became a member of the Chattanooga symphony/opera at age 14. At age 20, he started playing with Boots Randolph and Floyd Cramer. He has played with Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass, Liberace, Benny Goodman, Ronnie McDowell, Stella Parton, and Donna Fargo. Steve currently plays with various jazz, rock, big band, and country groups. Besides drum set, he also plays timpani and the various mallet instruments. In 2015, Steve had the honor to play drums for a concert in Carnegie Hall, and in 2016 he played drums for a bluegrass concert at the Ryman auditorium in Nashville.
Steve provides private lessons in drums, percussion, piano, guitar, and bass guitar.
